Event Details
The KZN Lean Conference was envisioned to help drive positive, meaningful change and competitiveness, to inspire the creation of thinking organizations that are agile and productive.
Based on the Toyota Production system lean methodology focuses on reducing work while increasing value. The main motive is to boost work processes by eliminating wasteful efforts. Going Lean is about improving organizational performance - seeing problems and solving them the "right" way, and in so doing, continually increasing the thinking ability and/or intellectual capacity and skill of all employees. It's not just about applying a set of tools to save costs, it is important to understand the empowering, purposeful culture that drives lean. Lean is not about directing employees to act differently, it is about developing them and empowering them to think differently. A fundamental premise of learning is that other people's experiences provide insight and perspective that can help us to achieve the results that we are looking for. Both tools and thinking are necessary if you are to succeed, and the rewards will be improvements in employee engagement, trust, innovation, customer satisfaction and enterprise value.
The KZN Lean Conference seeks to teach delegates new tools, inspire new thinking and to provide insights from other people's experiences.
The 2022 edition of the KZN Lean Conference will focus on how digital and technology can enable sustainability, but through thinking lean first.
The conference will feature several South African case studies, and most excitingly: "digital transformation and the incredible turnaround story of everybody's favourite brand, LEGO".
The final ½ day will involve a case study visit to Hesto Harnesses.
