Event Details

The KZN Lean Conference was envisioned to inspire the creation of thinking organisations that are agile and productive.

Delegates will learn new tools, new thinking and gain insights from other people's experiences.

The 2023 edition will look at combining Lean thinking, Agile techniques, and Scrum and will focus on how to be lean and agile in an unpredictable and volatile environment full of disruption. Attendance is limited to 50 delegates in total on a first-come, first-served basis.

The conference incorporates a 2-part Masterclass by Texas-based Nigel Thurlow, a globally recognised expert in Lean and Agile methods, tools, techniques, and approaches. Nigel was the first-ever Chief of Agile at Toyota, he created the award-winning "Scrum the Toyota Way" and co-created The Flow System, a holistic FLOW-based approach to delivering customer-first value built on a foundation of The Toyota Production System.

The conference will also feature several local case studies from companies such as Defy, Kaefer and Ramsay Engineering, as well as a fascinating presentation by Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Ryan Giles, on leading improvement projects. He'll share what he has learnt over the past 20 years working across 7 different African countries overcoming challenges and achieving success. His involvement in the execution of these projects using change management principles will highlight key practical learnings for delegates.

Political Economy Analyst, Daniel Silke, will deliver the keynote at the conference dinner, entitled: "The Year of Reckoning"

The final ½ day will involve a special Green Room Session with Nigel Thurlow, focused on Understanding and Navigating Complexity and Mastering the Triple Helix of Flow. There are only 15 seats available for this executive session on a first-come, first-served basis.
