Event Details

The KZN Lean Conference was envisioned to inspire the creation of thinking organisations that are agile and productive.

Delegates will learn new tools, new thinking and gain insights from other people's experiences.

Applying Lean tools is never the challenging part of Lean implementation, it's taking your people with you that's the tricky part – it's the culture change, so this year we're focusing on cultivating extreme ownership at every level of the organisation.

We have managed to secure an amazing subject matter expert from the States – Billy Taylor - Taylor is an American business executive, dynamic speaker and transformation & change management guru. He is the founder and president of LinkedXL, a business operating systems architecting firm, and the author of "The Winning Link." Billy spent 30 years with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (GT), serving as director of North America manufacturing and chief diversity and inclusion officer. During his tenure at Goodyear, Taylor started on the plant floor and retired as global head of diversity and inclusion and executive director of commercial, off-highway, and support manufacturing in North America, where he led world-class operations. During his 30-year tenure at Goodyear, Billy spearheaded several manufacturing plant turnarounds, significantly enhancing their performance and contributing to the company's remarkable financial turnaround—from a loss of $38 million to over $1 billion in earnings.

The conference will also feature several South African case studies – we're particularly excited about hosting Ian Fuhr, the founder of the Sorbet Group (the largest chain of beauty salons in South Africa) who will present on "cultureneering" - building a strong business culture in a diverse workforce that delivers obsessive customer service. "Cultureneering" is a philosophy and framework that Ian spent four decades developing.

Political Economy Analyst, Moeletsi Mbeki, will deliver the keynote at the conference dinner.

The final day will involve a special Strategy War Room Session with Billy Taylor. There are only 30 seats available for this executive session on a first-come, first-served basis.
