OVERVIEW

Tired of website designers charging you a small fortune for simple website updates?

Then it's time to be the captain of your website ship.

Attendees need to bring their laptops to this workshop.

What will be covered:

Understanding what a domain is and why it's important to have one.

If any attendees would like to have a domain set-up prior to the workshop they can contact me directly (anthea@appcity.co.za) to register it for them and this will cost an additional R150 for domain registration... as well as cost R150 per year to keep their domain.

I will have a few "Dummy Domains" that the attendees will be able to use to create their own websites during the workshop.

Planning stage:

What is the purpose of your website?

To generate business.

What design elements do you need to achieve the desired outcome of your website?

Design stage:

How to login to the website

How to create a new page

How to design your page

How to optimise your images for your website (so they don't slow it down)

How to create buttons

How to create a call to action

How to save/publish your website updates

How to check your website is mobile responsive

How to adjust elements of your website to make it more mobile responsive.

Implementation stage:

Should attendees wish to use their newly designed website, then AppCity will provide an extra half hour to each attendee outside of the workshop to assist with making the website live on their domain.

Bonus:

AppCity will offer workshop attendees a 33% discount on their first year of website hosting should they wish to host their website through AppCity (they are also welcome to use a hosting provider of their choice and will be provided a copy of the design they do in the workshop to submit to their chosen hosting company. AppCity's rates for attendees will be R100 per month for the 1st year and then R150 per month thereafter. (As well as the R150 per year for the domain name). Website hosting includes up to 5 email addresses. Each extra email address is an additional R20 per month.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

How to build your own website is aimed at any business owners that would like to have a website or would like to create a new modern website.

Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
